Liability Claims Manager

Position Summary:  

This position is responsible for the management of the third-party liability claims program. This role assists with the mitigating of Reyes Holdings’ risk by formulating, developing, reviewing, and coordinating claims-related activity. This position has a primary focus on Auto and General Liability claims for the enterprise.

 

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to: 

Provide guidance and oversight of Third-Party Administrator claims adjusters and their claims management to insure proper and efficient handling of Auto Liability and General Liability claimsProvide reserve and settlement authority to Third Party Administrator within designated limits, escalating all appropriate matters as requiredWork with Third Party Administrator in the management of litigated filesWork closely with outside counsel and coordinate with in-house attorneys in claim litigationProvide claim guidance in claims involving General Liability & Auto Liability non-litigated BI claims to resolve proficientlyResponsible for securing information and evidence with business units for liability claimsCoordinate and assist with the investigation of significant accidents; including fielding calls (some off-hours), assigning counsel, ensuring all documents are preserved, and internal legal hold letter issuedAttend mediations, either in-person or telephonically, and all trialsParticipate in claim presentations conducted at distribution centersCoordinate and participate in claims audits of Third-Party AdministratorCoordinate quarterly litigated claim file reviews with general counsel and finance team for updating each business unit with potential high exposure and resolution planEnsure the defense counsel panel list is currentMaintain a current list of claims with potential high exposure or are subject to legal or vehicle holdsProvide support services for location needsMonitor daily intake claim reports for correct claim entry for coverage lineTravel as necessaryOther projects or duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience: 

Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Risk Management or related field with 5+ years of multi-state experience handling and supervising Auto Liability and General Liability claims. Or HS Diploma with 8+ years of related experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degreeExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficient in Microsoft OfficeThis position must pass a post-offer background and drug test

Preferred Skills and Experience: 

CPCU, ARM or ACM designationPrevious in-house industry experience is a plus
