Level II Electrical and Avionics Test Engineer

As part of a diverse and hardworking team of specialists, you will develop, lead, and implement test plans and procedures as part of the Production Test Engineering Team. This is a hands-on testing job and you will have ownership of electrical and avionics systems for ground support equipment and spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of vehicle and ground systems testing for mechanical/fluids, electrical, propulsion systems, or structural testing. You will develop and review test methods, GSE, and test procedures to efficiently complete integrated system testing for multiple test campaigns. You will be coordinating and directing test crews and GSE while establishing vehicle configurations for testing throughout vehicle production as well as leading a small team of technicians during test setups, checkouts, and teardowns.

Responsibilities:

Develop test plans, procedures, and work orders of the vehicle's electrical and avionics subsystems against program requirements

Develop test methods to efficiently complete integrated system testing

Develop/coordinate test instrumentation requirements with customers, oversee ICDs, procedures, and other engineering artifacts related to test hardware

Assist in harness development including design, budgeting, procurement, verification, and integration

Maintain automated test equipment configuration control, calibration, and traceability

Write test procedures and manage procedural red lines and updates during test campaigns

Coordinate vendors to design and fabricate test equipment/GSE

Integrate testing and operability features into new vehicle designs

Participate in gated design and test readiness reviews

Define and perform facility activation tests

Manage overall responsibility for the test, the team, and the procedure

Maintain and operate avionics or electrical hardware and/or software

Enforce safety policies during test planning and operations

Troubleshoot anomalies real time and provide solutions during non-conformance scenarios

Reduce, analyze, and archive test data to support verification tasks

While this position is based in Florida, there is some travel to other sites(10%) to work with design and other test engineers

Connect to customers and own technical reviews and documentation for own projects

Provide feedback to others to improve testing solutions

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field

Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Exhibits a strong safety work ethic

Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion

Must be adaptable and flexible

Experience troubleshooting hardware

Ability to read electrical panel schematics/layout designs

Ability to support off shifts as required

Preferred Qualifications:

Background in typical aerospace vehicle electrical systems and topologies and verification/validation approaches

Intermediate experience with electrical support equipment & ground systems development

Intermediate experience developing instrumentation installation and checkout procedures

Background performing vehicle wiring installation and testing

Capable of leading test teams as a Test Conductor or Test Engineer

Intermediate experience in test development, processes, systems, and operational excellence

Intermediate experience testing or operating avionics/control systems
