Job Description – LATAM Legal Manager

Responsibilities

Provide support in all legal matters arising in LATAM and provide critical input in litigation matters, including claims before Ethics Committee of the local Trade Association, with focus in Colombia and Mexico.Lead the counterfeit and compounding strategy with the cross functional team across LATAM with strong collaboration and understanding of regulatory, criminal and administrative (intellectual property) aspects of the procedures, as well as decision-making within the context of the strategy aligned with the Associate Legal Director to trigger actions to reduce incidents.As a Legal design expert, help streamline and optimize processes within the Legal Department with a user-centered approach with regards to Contract Management, Corporate Governance, Legal updates and Litigation Management.Proposal, development and implementation of policies regarding legal procedures.Contract Management, Review and Authorization of documents involving leases, licenses, purchases, sales, real estate, employment, insurance, mergers, acquisitions, marketing and advertising agencies, licensing and acquisitions and business development deals, research and development, and related matters.Lead projects with high risk and high complexity, specifically Business Development deals (i.e. Licensing and Acquisitions, Mergers and Acquisitions, Complex Pharmaceutical Distribution Agreements and Technology Transfer Agreements, as well as any preparatory agreement of the like – MOU, TS, NBTS, LOI, NBLOI, etc.).Provide legal advice and guidance to management and their teams on all matters, taking into consideration internal policy and procedure requirements.Provide strategic and operational advice with a business-oriented approach across all business units on a full range of legal aspects and on complex and strategic business matters, with a particular focus on: Government Sales – fluid environment in LATAM region.Support the timely and successful launch of new products, the maximization of the marketing for our products and the late-life-cycle management of products.Pharmaceuticals marketing, advertising and promotion, including its regulatory landscape (do’s and don’ts).Instruct and manage Outside Counsel Network in alignment with Associate Legal Director by effective cost management/tracking and quality control.Partner with and foster a culture of Ethics and Compliance.Advise the business on the areas of anti-trust, fraud/corruption, intellectual property, regulatory matters, confidentiality and minimize their impact on daily operations.Anticipate and resolve complex matters in specific areas of accountability.

Job Requirements:

Proven record counseling directly in Mexico and one or more major markets in LATAM.Sound legal and business acumen.Management experience (projects or teams).Sound judgment and ability to navigate complex corporate environments.Experience managing complex legal problems for corporate clients.Prior experience as in-house counsel/in the life science sector and managing complex legal. projects or teams (preferred but not mandatory).Ability to navigate cross-cultural contexts.Ability to speak in public and provide training to the organization on legal matters.  Fluency in English.
