Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated in-house legal counsel to join Procter & Gamble to provide legal support for Thailand’s business operations. Procter & Gamble lawyers play a substantial role in helping to build the Company’s business by helping the business navigate the myriad of laws and regulations that affect a multinational while being passionate about solutions that enable the business.

Your Team

You will report directly to our P&G’s ASEAN Regional Head of Legal who is based in Singapore while yourself being located in Bangkok. You will be part of a dynamic, diverse and progressive team in ASEAN requiring you collaborate with your business partners in Thailand to and virtually across the ASEAN cluster and abroad with other Legal colleagues.

How success looks like

You will be an agile lawyer capable of working in a highly dynamic business environment in Thailand supporting the selling market operations and manufacturing plant in Bangkok

You will be able to lead with courage being able to decisively weigh risks and advise on the best path forward while mitigating legal risks

You will have outstanding practical problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate with others but while working independently as the sole country lawyer in Thailand

Job Responsibilities

As the sole country lawyer and company expert in Thai law you will be expected to:

Advise on matters in Thailand employment matters, including (a) general labor and employment matters; (b) compliance and internal investigations; (c) employee field and departures; and (d) employee compensation and benefits.

Advise, draft, negotiate, commercial agreements and related commercial transactions, which involve both internal agreements with other P&G companies as well as agreements with external parties, such as distribution agreements, promotions, talent, media, IP, and agency agreements.

Advise P&G on all sales, distribution, advertising, promotion, labeling, sponsorships, pricing, competition, privacy, cybersecurity and IT Law, consumer protection, stewardship, general compliance (with laws and company policies),

Advise and handle litigation matters in Thailand, including handling outside counsel

Conduct regular training for the organization regarding compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.

Ensure legal compliance for P&G legal entities in Thailand including ensuring proper shareholder resolutions, Powers of Attorney, Letters of Authorization, and similar documents for maintenance of the corporate entities.

Advise internal clients on various corporate projects, including corporate restructuring and acquisition and divestitures affecting P&G as part of a cross-functional project team.

Handle and/or advise the internal clients on any other legal matters relating to Thai law

Monitor legislative developments, identify emerging issues to the company, and strategic counsel to help the business

Lead the influencing policy and legislation realities with the business goals.

Establish and maintain P&G relationships with the government, embassies, and representation in industry associations and chambers of commerce.

Job Qualifications

Given the significant scope and responsibility for the position, P&G seeks a successful candidate with the following skills and experience:

Education & Experience:

Law degree from Thailand

Admitted to practice law and in good standing in Thailand

2-5 years of legal experience in a law firm or in-house legal department (ideally FMCG company), preferably with expertise in commercial and/or corporate law, and experience in litigation.

Skills

Fluent in Thai and in English

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and very strong problem-solving skills.

Capacity to handle a wide variety of responsibilities and exciting priorities with accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability and initiative to set priorities and meet targets.

Track record of success in professional and personal activities.

Proven track record to work as a member of a team.

Problem-solving and analytical skills, oriented attitude is a plus especially during issues and crises

Social skills to persuade, influence, and adapt communication style to different situations and individuals
