The Kemin Corporate and Legal Affairs team is looking for a Legal Intern. As an Intern, you will team with Kemin legal staff to serve in house clientele. In addition, you will be involved in contract management and negotiating as well as research and legal drafting. This is a unique opportunity as you will have potential exposure to: Intellectual property projects, employment law projects, and immigration law projects.
Our comprehensive internship program lasts 10-12 weeks. During that time, our interns are assigned a project that will have a direct impact on Kemin's day to day operations. At the culmination of the program, they enjoy an opportunity to present their project and results to Kemin team members including our executive team. In addition to their project, interns also receive mentor-ship and guidance that will help prepare them for their long term careers.

Responsibilities Perform research as requested and make written recommendations regarding appropriate course of action to the legal teamReview and draft relevant agreements as requested by internal customers. You will have the chance to develop your skills in issue spotting and identifying contractual clauses. Perform first level searches regarding intellectual property rights for potential inventions and trademark matters. Qualifications Currently pursuing a law degree or related field.Active self-starter and project-orientedStrong eye for detail and great attention to accuracyAbility to commit to 10-12 weeks of full time employment during the months of May-August.Excellent written and oral communication skills.A high level of passion for your field of study.
