Legal Executive Administrator

Position Summary:

This position will report to Bio-Techne’s General Counsel, Corporate Secretary, and will support a collaborative, collegial, service-oriented team of six attorneys and two paralegals. This role will be responsible for day-to-day administrative support of the Legal team across a diverse range of responsibilities and activities. Responsibilities will include assisting the administration and coordination of the legal and compliance activities of the Legal team, including supporting the General Counsel’s interactions with the Board of Directors, assisting with outside counsel matter and invoice management, managing and organizing governance of the Company’s global legal entities, managing meetings and scheduling team events, promoting and supporting a productive and supportive team culture.

Key Responsibilities:

This role will be integral in helping the Legal team serve the business, including organizing team activities, planning Board activities, preparing Board meeting materials, supporting the Company’s global corporate governance activities, supporting the management of outside legal counsel, and other important administrative tasks.  Lead the management of Bio-Techne’s global legal entities’ governance, including holding meetings, appointing board members, and ensuring legal complianceDevelop, maintain and organize Board materials and calendar of Board activities Maintaining and organizing legal team references and resourcesPerform substantive and critical review of documents, exercising judgment to ensure efficient and thoughtful escalationMaintain and manage contracts, and support efficient use of the Company’s contract management systemSupport Company compliance activitiesUndertake other projects as requested

Required Experience and Proficiencies:

This role requires at least seven years’ previous relevant experience, including at least three years of experience providing administrative support to a corporate legal function. 

Required proficiencies, familiarity, and capabilities are as follows:

Proficient in the MS Office suiteFamiliarity and/or capability with at least one of the following types of Legal team tools, plus the aptitude and enthusiasm to learn the remainder:Expense management software (i.e. Concur)Legal matter management and billing software (i.e. Legal Tracker)Board management and corporate governance software (i.e. Diligent)Contract management softwareSharepoint

Experience with global entity management
