Job Summary
• As Legal Counsel Brasil, you will be a member of the legal team who supports HP’s businesses in Brazil, and you will work closely, on a dotted line, to the Country Counsel of Brazil. This role will suit an experienced commercial lawyer who seeks to be challenged within a dynamic and innovative environment.You will be responsible for supporting commercial transactions with Brasil and Argentina based customers (private and public sector customers), and with channel partners and other legal matters, including:Supporting the business in the review of RFPs and negotiation of hardware, software and/or professional services contracts with enterprise and public sector customers based in both countries, through direct or indirect routes-to-market, across HP’s portfolio.Advising the business on legal risks and strategy relating to pre-litigation and claims with commercial customers, channel partners and consumers.Conducting legal review of global templates, programs, new product or service offerings and/or Go-To-Market initiatives, in collaboration with other legal team colleagues.Contributing to the development and delivery of guidance and training to the business on legal topics, to mitigate the risks to the company and drive efficiency in the provision of the legal services.
Responsibilities
• Working closely with the Brazil Country Counsel and Argentina Country Counsel, manages legal solutions for clients at the country level, including driving high value/risk commercial transactions and program review, drafting, and negotiating public and private sector deal opportunities.
• Provides legal subject matter expertise for commercial, civil, antitrust, consumer, advertising, post-acquisition merger and acquisition (M&A) local integration, and local regulatory compliance matters.
• Monitors evolving regulatory landscapes and industry trends to ensure the organization's adherence to changing legal requirements.
• Supports in provision of institutional knowledge, support, and fiduciary oversight in relation to corporate and local governance standards, policies, process, and reporting requirements.
• Develops new ideas and methods to effectively address recurring legal issues or matters facing multiple client organizations.
• Contributes to complex multidimensional projects or transactions by identifying and resolving complex local legal issues requiring in- depth consideration of multiple factors.
• Applies subject matter knowledge, collaborates, and contributes to complex projects, and exercises independent judgment in resolving business issues and establishing policies.Leads review, risk assessment and approval process of legal issues of public sector deals, as well as manages pre-litigation and administrative litigation strategies within such dealsLeads review, risk assessment, approval process and negotiation of legal issues of commercial private dealsDesired Skills and Characteristics:Team player with a passion to contribute to our shared goals and the ability to work independently, managing multiple priorities effectively.Commercial awareness and proactive “can-do” attitude with strong problem-solving abilities.Sound judgment and excellent critical thinking, research, and communication skills to enable a smart risk approach.Growth mindset with a drive to keep learning and improve the way we deliver our services.Ability to be effective under time pressure.Inclusive and respectful towards diverse cultures and individuals.Reliable with uncompromised integrity
Education & Experience Recommended
• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Law.
• Typically has 7-10 years of work experience, preferably in commercial, general or specialty law, or a related field.Previous work experience with public sector deals in BrazilEnglish and Spanish fluencyRequired Certifications
