Your role:  Reporting directly to the Head of Legal, Canada:

Drafting and reviewing a wide variety of commercial agreements to meet business and legal requirements, such as sales of products and services, procurement, distribution, collaboration and non-disclosure agreements.Negotiating with key partners, customers (public and private), government agencies, suppliers and vendors.Providing advice and counsel to business partners, management and other internal stakeholders on the full range of commercial law, RFx/tenders, healthcare regulations, fraud & abuse, data privacy, AI and other relevant topics.Preparing and conducting training of sales, finance and other personnel on commercial law, Siemens Healthineers’ terms and conditions, contract templates, regulatory considerations and other relevant topics.Developing creative and compliant solutions to resolve complicated business challenges and customer disputesAssisting in the management of contract documentation flow, approvals, reporting and archiving consistent with internal processes.Providing ongoing counseling regarding (and efficient implementation of) various corporate policies, initiatives and/or programs.Cooperating across corporate business units and departments and throughout a large group of affiliated companies to achieve optimal results while minimizing risk.Performing any other duties and special projects as may be assigned.

Your Expertise:

Proven ability to independently lead and execute all facets of challenging multi-disciplinary engagements with highest integrity and ethics – from preliminary/conceptual advice and risk identification, through structuring, drafting, negotiating, closing, and any subsequent conflict resolution.Highly polished and effective negotiation, communication, listening and drafting skills, including those suitable for interaction with senior managers and leadership within a global and matrixed organization and with key customers.Solid knowledge of and/or capability to quick build expertise in Canadian healthcare legal and regulatory environment.Fluency with the regulatory environments, including anti-kickback laws, fraud and abuse statutes, and privacy laws applicable to medical device manufacturers.Demonstrated skill in working collaboratively with multiple teams simultaneously, some of whom may be located outside of Canada.Proven ability to identify legal issues and risks, and initiate needed actions and follow-up.Innovation in design and delivery of legal strategies and solutions to support ever-evolving business objectives.Experience with monitoring and improving processes through ongoing optimization efforts, technology enhancements, and business partner feedback.

Your Qualifications:

Minimum of 3-5 years of corporate and commercial law experience, in-house with a healthcare/technology company, within a highly regulated industry,  or experience in a well-respected law firm.LL.B./JD, called to the Bar in the Province of Ontario, and a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.Fluency in French is an asset.
