Legal Counsel

Our in-house Legal Department is looking to hire a full time English law qualified Legal Counsel to work in London.

Responsibilities

Negotiate and draft commercial agreements including customer and vendor agreements. Provide practical legal and strategic advice on a range of UK and international legal matters including employment, intellectual property, media, M&A, privacy, and dispute resolution. Build relationships with the Commercial team and other key stakeholders across the organisation. Continuously learn about our business, services and technology. Develop and maintain expertise in current legal issues relevant to our business, such as those relating to artificial intelligence. Drive and contribute to legal projects, including improving our legal operations as we scale.

Requirements

English law qualified solicitor with a current practising certificate. At least 2 years of relevant post-qualification experience in private practice. Experience of reviewing and negotiating SaaS and/or data licensing contracts. Keen commercial awareness and ability to provide actionable advice. Excellent people skills with an ability to maintain strong working relationships. Sound and practical judgment in managing legal risks. The ability to work both independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment. Confident and clear communicator.

Preferred

In-house experience. Experience related to the financial services, media and/or technology sectors. Experience or interest in using technology to improve legal operations.
