Key Responsibilities:
Ensuring ongoing compliance with all applicable legislative and regulatory requirements Ensuring compliance with King 4 and assisting with assurance Drafting and updating risk ratings, compliance risk management plans and annual plans, and giving compliance advice for key laws e.g. FAIS, Insurance, TCF, FSRA (primary focus), POPIA, CPA, EPR, ESG and FICA Providing compliance advice for key laws in Botswana and Zambia Drafting policies and oversight of certain policies for key laws Liaising with TFG internal audit and external auditors regarding compliance Providing awareness training on applicable laws, compliance related systems, creating a culture of compliance, risk awareness, identification, assessment, mitigating and monitoring laws Maintaining a legislative risk register and reporting on these risks, and actions required Keeping management updated on legislative developments – i.e. draft laws and proposed new laws Monitoring TFG customer complaints systems and complaints to external bodies on TFG Provide legal compliance advice and opinions to in-house legal advisors and the business Submission of reports, financials and keeping company records with the relevant regulators up to date Assisting with drafting compliance reports to 3 board committees Assisting in up-skilling and managing the team’s compliance assistants Where specified, attending meetings on laws being drafted (e.g. parliament or industry bodies) and provide reports Facilitating compliance and project managing compliance related changes within the business Facilitating the automation of compliance monitoring within areas of responsibilityQualifications and Experience:
LLB qualification (essential) Admitted attorney (essential) Compliance qualification from a recognised institution e.g. UCT/CISA compliance management course (essential) Key Individual exam qualification (essential) Registered compliance officer for a Category 1 FSP (essential) Minimum 5 years post articles experience 3 years of compliance experience SA Passport holderSkills:
