Private Wealth Solutions  

Private Wealth Solutions was established to answer the growing demand for Blackstone products from high-net worth investors. Partnering with many of the world’s largest private banks and wealth management firms as well as family offices, Blackstone’s Private Wealth Solutions team packages and delivers the full breadth of Blackstone’s alternative product capability to these firms and their clients and provides ongoing product and advisor support, as well as education and training around alternatives.

Job Title: Legal & Compliance - Registered Funds - Attorney, VP

Job Description:

This hire will work on a variety of legal and compliance matters and general corporate matters. Most notably, the focus will be leading the innovative formation and supporting the ongoing management of credit/insurance/real estate registered funds and private vehicles.

Primary job responsibilities will include:

Assisting senior attorneys with day-to-day project management and fund formation matters and participating in product development of varied investment structures across multiple jurisdictions.

Assisting from a legal perspective with the operational development and ongoing management of registered investment companies and alternative vehicles.

Assisting with the creation and management of registered fund board materials.

Managing regulatory filings (e.g., 8-Ks, 10-Q/Ks, Form 10s, N-2s, N_CSRs prospectus updates) and assist with managing day-to-day regulatory compliance oversight of registered funds.

Assisting with the development of a marketing and fundraising plan for registered funds. 

Working with the in-house Legal & Compliance team and external counsel to monitor and implement legal and regulatory developments that impact the registered funds.

Providing regulatory and legal advice to investment professionals and business personnel, including preparation of reports to investment team and senior management.

Communicating on an ongoing basis with external counsel and various other counterparties regarding legal initiatives.

Supporting various business groups, including investment, marketing, accounting, operations and middle office departments.

Qualifications:

6+ years of experience practicing law as a law firm associate or in-house counsel, preferably focused on registered funds / investment management law. Capital markets background would also be suitable.

Familiarity working on BDCs and other registered funds is preferred but not required.

Experience with private funds and public company filings is not required but would be helpful.

Strong time and task management.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and raise issues in a timely and productive fashion.

This is a project management-heavy role, so the ability to manage various stakeholders is crucial.

Possess an interest in financial markets and legal processes with an ability to step in and work directly with stakeholders in the business.

Highly motivated, enthusiastic, proactive, intelligent, and proven excellence in prior endeavors.

Ability to be proactive in new situations and to independently manage projects to conclusion is important.

Must be a strong and independent thinker with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong skills in Microsoft Office suite.

Team player.

Strong organizational and communication skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to write effectively.

Desire to work as part of a collaborative team and willingness to embrace a variety of issues and responsibilities.

Expected annual base salary range:

$150,000 - $225,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
