Beacon Hill Legal is seeking a Legal Assistant for a Public Law and Finance Law Firm in Dallas. The Legal Assistant will play a vital role in supporting attorneys and their clients, ensuring timely and orderly implementation of policies, processes, actions, filings, and other business activities. This opportunity is full time, on-site, and direct hire.

Responsibilities:

Daily client-facing interactions Attend Board of Directors meetings (both in-office and off-site), draft meeting minutes, and occasionally travel locally for meetings held outside of normal business hoursDraft agendas for Board meetingsDraft and process documents including Orders, Resolutions, and other Board meeting documents; coordinate with Directors and other parties to obtain document execution; organize and e-file documents post-meetingConduct research, compile, and analyze information using internal resourcesDraft professional correspondencePrepare and maintain calendars of events, deadlines, and regulatory filingsMonitor compliance with contract termsAssist with the sale of public bonds and client-held electionsHandle real estate matters on behalf of clientsRespond to or coordinate responses to inquiries from Directors, residents, the public, consultants, and governmental agenciesAccurately bill time worked on client business dailyPerform administrative duties including handling client mail, scanning, and copyingOther duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required with a background in English, Journalism, Legal Studies, Project Management, or Public AdministrationStrong oral and written communication skills, with an emphasis on grammar, spelling, writing, and proofreading; extensive experience with editing documentsAbility to meet deadlines with strict attention to detailAbility to work well with limited supervision and independently on multiple projectsStrong client and customer service skillsWillingness to attend in-office or off-site meetings at various times; willingness to travel to off-site meetings within the greater Houston areaAbility to speak to groups in a Board meeting settingExperience attending meetings and taking minutes is preferredAbility to sit at desks and conference tables for extended periodsReliable transportation for travel
