The Legal and Compliance Analyst is responsible for ensuring that a company adheres to all legal, regulatory, and internal compliance requirements. This role involves supporting the Company’s attorneys perform their responsibilities as well as role’s own duties. The analyst conducts audits, prepares reports, and assists in the development and implementation of compliance programs. They may also monitor changes in relevant legislation and ensure that the organization remains in compliance with industry standards. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly are essential for this role.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Compliance
+ Assist with maintaining an effective compliance program that manages and mitigates risk through the design, implementation and testing of policies, procedures, and best practices.
+ Support Director, Legal and Compliance maintain compliance calendar, monitor progress of compliance initiatives and requirements, prepare reports, as necessary, and participate in annual review of compliance program.
+ Support vendor due diligence through the preparation and distribution of operational due diligence questionnaires.
+ Exercise effective communication and promote positive relationships with Legal and Compliance team members and business partners.
+ Support Director, Legal and Compliance prepare reports for Chief Compliance Officer and internal management.
+ Collaborate with various departments on compliance initiatives and to ensure adherence with compliance standards.
+ Support maintenance of compliance monitoring and reporting systems, including the personal trading and certifications system, restricted trading list, and others (ComplySci).
+ Support key operations risk initiatives (i.e., privacy policy, rent control, utilities, etc.).
+ Oversee Client Background Reviews, as requested.
Legal
+ Assist Company attorneys in subpoena, records requests and other legal process management and response.
+ Support Company’s attorneys in defining, developing and implementing strategic operational legal department initiatives.
+ Support the Company’s regulatory license management processes, including collaborating to obtain information and adhere to scheduled reporting requirements.
+ Analyze contract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and Bell Partners’ policies and procedures.
+ Organizes and maintains files utilizing the Company’s electronic records management system and maintains order and control of the workspace through a logical and prompt filing discipline and through efficient disposal of unnecessary or duplicate items
+ Review, coding, and overall management of outside counsel invoices for legal services, in coordination with billing specialists, including developing relationships with our outside counsel’s administrative counterparts.
+ Manage music and video license renewals and reporting requirements.
+ Assist with other administrative and special projects, as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and compliance software/tools.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to identify legal risks and recommend solutions.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively present legal information and compliance reports to stakeholders at all levels.
+ High attention to detail and the ability to work with precision in managing legal and compliance documentation.
+ Strong ethical foundation and ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
+ Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment, ensuring compliance objectives are met across the organization.
+ Willingness to stay updated on changing laws and regulations and adapt compliance programs accordingly.
Education and Background:
+ An associate or bachelor degree, preferably in Paralegal Studies or related field, or Paralegal certification required.
+ Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a paralegal or compliance role, preferably within the real estate or property management industry.
