The Pharmacology Division is committed to accommodate experts and professionals in all healthcare professions and scientific community. The Division interfaces with national and international societies and healthcare bodies and provides scientific and medical support. The applicants will need to contribute to the academic and research endeavours of the University, conduct innovative research, and assist to enhance the profile of Pharmacology at all levels and in all professions.
The Department of Pharmacy and Pharmacology is seeking to appoint a suitable candidate in a full-time lecturer post in the Division of Pharmacology who will make a major contribution to the teaching and clinical/laboratory research activities in the Division. The position is a 100% post with a competitive remuneration package.
Brief DescriptionKey responsibilities include the following:
Teaching and learning responsibilities including lecturing all aspects of Pharmacology Performing administrative duties in the Division, School, Faculty, University Undertaking research in Laboratory/Clinical Pharmacology Supervision of undergraduate/postgraduate students in research and academic teaching Secure research grants to establish and maintain niche area Contribute to third stream income to the Division
Requirements:
Minimal: Degree with Pharmacology: MBBCh, BPharm, BHSc Honours in Pharmacology MSc (Pharmacology) / MPharm (Pharmacology) /MMed (Clinical Pharmacology) MBBCh, BPharm, BHSc (Honours Pharmacology) (completed/submitted) Ideally: PhD degree in Pharmacology - MBBCh, BPharm, BHSc (Honours Pharmacology) (completed/submitted) Previous teaching experience in Pharmacology at a tertiary level Research and supervisory experience at a tertiary level Registered with appropriate professional body (if applicable)
Preferences:
MBBCh with Pharmacology postgraduate degree Relevant Pharmacology teaching experience at tertiary level
