Job Description
The Frank H. Dotterweich College of Engineering invites applications for a full-time, 9-month/academic year, lecturer in construction management beginning the Fall 2024 academic year (start date: August 15, 2024) in the Department of Industrial Management and Technology. Lecturer appointments are made on a yearly basis and are subject to an annual evaluation to renew the yearly contract.
Responsibilities:
+ Teach courses throughout the academic year in the following areas:
+ Project management
+ Capstone Design Project
+ Equipment, materials, and testing (destructive and non-destructive) in construction
+ Cost Estimating
+ Project scheduling methodologies and the use of software for project scheduling
+ Contract, legal aspects, and safety management
+ Architectural CAD
+ Technical CAD: Solidworks
+ Project Estimation, Planning, and Control
+ Construction and Building Inspectors
+ First-line supervisors of Construction Trades and Extraction Workers
+ Transportation (road and bridge) construction
+ Introduction Building Structures
+ Get certified in an area of construction management to certify students
+ Participate in departmental service activities such as recruiting and retention
+ Participate in a continuous improvement process of the curricula in construction management
+ Prepare students for technical competitions
Minimum Qualifications:
+ The successful candidate must have earned a M.S. in engineering/construction or in a closely related field with relevant industrial experience. A Ph.D. degree in engineering/construction is preferred.
+ At least two years of experience in manufacturing, construction, service, or governmental industry.
+ Demonstrate whether you have worked with students on projects or capstone projects.
+ Demonstrate whether you have taught courses at the college level.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop and teach undergraduate courses (online and face-to-face), mentor students, develop laboratory practices, and create student rapport.
