**Job Description**
BAE Systems is seeking a seasoned Continuous Improvement Leader / Master Blackbelt for the Endicott, NY site which supports Controls and Avionics Systems & Power Propulsion Systems business areas. You will be a key contributor to the lean strategy for the business and ensure effective deployment of lean resources. As a principal-level Continuous Improvement Subject Matter Expert, you will help develop and sustain a lean culture using various Lean tools with focus on achieving world class operational excellence. You will be an innovator with expertise in lean manufacturing, overall operations management, and plant transformations. You will lead and coordinate all aspects of Continuous Improvement (CI) activities, driven by business needs and sector strategies / objectives.
Specific duties generally include but are not limited to the following:
+ Lead and manage significant process improvement projects that align with business goals and objectives.
+ Support the identification, selection and prioritization of Lean Six Sigma / CI projects.
+ Provides communication of project goals, strategy and status within the project team and with project stakeholders, including senior management.
+ Develop organizational maturity (i.e. institutionalized Lean Six Sigma) by training others in continuous improvement approaches.
+ Conduct classroom instruction for Green Belts, Black Belts, White Belts, Champions and other courses as well as Executive/Project Sponsor Workshop, Project Identification and Selection Workshop(s).
+ Mentor and Coach Black Belts and Green Belts.
+ Support Black Belts and Green Belts in the certification process.
+ Promote use of Lean Six Sigma methodology and tools (DMAIC, Lean, Kaizen and DFSS).
+ Lead and coach teams in defect analysis and creation of improvement measures.
+ Provide project support & process documentation.
+ Facilitate / support other business initiatives as needed.
+ Work in coordination with leadership to analyze, monitor and assess critical activities affecting policy, organizational guidance, and developmental processes.
+ Develop recommendations to support mission goals, requirements and sustainment of improvements.
+ Assist with data analysis, conclusions and presentations related to project completion and findings.
+ Coordinate with central CI team to identify training and development opportunities for the site.
+ While reporting to the Sr. Director of Quality, the candidate will work closely with Operations and all levels of the organization and drive operational excellence across the extended enterprise.
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Bachelor's Degree and 8-10 years of experience or 12-14 years of experience in lieu of degree
+ Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt from a nationally recognized organization or equivalent business experience as a Continuous Improvement lead
+ Experience in leading broad scope projects, utilizing Lean Six Sigma or other CI tools
+ Experience working in a manufacturing environment
+ Highly effective communicator both written and spoken
+ Training experience, both in one-on-one and group settings
+ Experience presenting material and providing mentoring and coaching
+ Pro-active with experience influencing, directing, guiding, and driving change
+ Computer experience to include Microsoft Office Suite, Minitab, Visio, or similar applications
+ No immediate security clearance required but should be able to attain a Secret level if required in the future
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ BS in Engineering or Technical Field.; MS in Engineering or Technical Field.
+ Extensive cross functional experience such as Aerospace, Automotive, or Defense.
+ Hands-on manufacturing experience in both Commercial and Defense products.
+ 5 years active experience in leading broad scope projects, utilizing Lean Six Sigma or other CI tools.
+ 10 years of work experience with at least 5 years working in a manufacturing environment
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $133333 - $226667
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
