Role Summary A Visualization Designer at Rivian is responsible for creating high-quality, photo-realistic renderings using tools like VRED, ensuring alignment with brand standards and design specifications. The role involves developing 3D assets using NURBS and polygonal data from platforms like 3ds Max, Maya, or Blender, and efficiently converting files from design teams for rendering. Strong collaboration skills are essential, as the designer engages with stakeholders to present project updates and resolve Responsibilities High-Quality Rendering: Utilize VRED (or similar software) to create photo-realistic renderings that align with design specifications and brand standards. Asset Development: Work with NURBS and Polygonal data using software such as Studio, 3ds Max, Maya, or Blender; efficiently import and convert files from designers and engineers for rendering. Collaboration: Develop verbal communication skills to engage with designers, present project updates, and discuss outcomes with management. Progress Tracking: Monitor job progress, identify tactical issues, and suggest adjustments to enhance workflow efficiency. Adobe Suite Proficiency: Leverage advanced skills in Adobe Suite to modify and enhance images as needed. Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to timelines and delivery standards. Supportive Role: Provide assistance on larger scale projects, contributing significantly to team goals and objectives. Technical Problem-Solving: Drive discussions around technical solutions, addressing issues collaboratively with team members. Skill Development: Pursue additional skills, such as animation, to enhance contributions and personal growth. Qualifications Experience: Proven experience in rendering and asset development within a design or engineering environment. Software Skills: Advanced proficiency in VRED, 3ds Max, Maya, Blender, and Adobe Suite. Communication: Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to present ideas effectively to senior management. Organizational Skills: Ability to work independently, stay organized, and adhere to file naming conventions for easy access and collaboration. Pay Disclosure Salary Range Irvine-Based Applicants: $154,000-$192,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, and other factors permitted by law). Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
