Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. The Lead Radiation Therapist provides leadership, training, and guidance to lower-level staff, supports leadership, and performs complex and specialized radiation oncology work specific to CT/Sim and radiation therapy treatment. The Lead Radiation Therapist will perform and train lower-level staff on the performance of routine, complex, and specialized work as well as assist in the implementation of new technology.

6. Participates in the selection, training education, development, and evaluation of Radiation Therapists. provides feedback to management on team members’ performance.
7. Identifies opportunities for corrective action and process improvement providing recommendations and contributes to meeting department and hospital targets for quality and safety
8. Educate, prepare and reassure patients and their families by answering questions, providing physical assistance, and reinforcing physicians’ advice regarding treatment reactions and post-treatment care.
9. Follows safety standards and complies with all department policies and procedures.
10. Other duties as assigned by the Radiation Oncology Manager or Director
Qualifications/Training:
5 years of related work experience
Demonstrate previous leadership ability (May be asked to provide examples)
Demonstrate previous critical thinking skills (May be asked to provide examples)
Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education
Current Registered Radiation Therapist verified by ARRT
