Lead Structural Engineering Supervisor
Job Title: Lead Structural Engineering SupervisorJob Description As a Lead Structural Engineering Supervisor, you will manage a team of 4-10 Structural Engineers designing upstream/midstream oil and gas facilities, power plants, and other industrial facilities. This role involves developing calculations, designs, and specifications, as well as conducting structural analyses and assisting in steel and concrete design. Responsibilities + Develop calculations, designs, and specifications; conduct structural analyses (wind, seismic, blast, pressurization); assist in steel and concrete design. + Oversee hiring, training, mentoring, QA/QC, performance reviews, and terminations. + Coordinate with supervisors and directors on project resources, business development, proposals, recruiting, and department standards. + Communicate with clients on structural design queries. + Analyze and allocate resources; manage budgets and schedules; track and approve PTO. + Facilitate weekly team and department meetings. + Enhance engineering skills through mentoring, training sessions, and on-the-job training. + Conduct employee reviews, development plans, and one-on-one meetings. + Travel for design reviews, construction coordination, and field verification. + Review work by others, including calculations and drawings. + Contribute to proposals by developing budgets, scopes, schedules, and feedback; facilitate project handoffs. + Identify staffing needs, participate in interviews, and onboard new hires. + Lead and manage structural-only projects as needed. Essential Skills + PE License required. + 15+ years of relevant oil and gas or industrial experience. + 10+ years of project team experience in designing oil and gas facilities, focusing on steel structures and concrete. + Strong knowledge of structural engineering applications, including support analysis, load calculations, and design integrity. + Proficiency in MathCad, STAAD PRO, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS. + Familiarity with design codes and standards (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI 318). + Proficient in MS Office applications. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + BSCE and MSCE from an ABET-accredited program. Work Environment This position is based in Englewood, CO, with occasional travel required. The work schedule is Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the office. The role can be based out of either the Westminster or Englewood office.
