The Opportunity

This position works out of our Columbus, OH in the CHR Corporate Human Resources division.   

The Lead Sous Chef oversees food preparation in café for chef. Covers stations in café.  Oversees cashier accountability, food sanitation and cleanliness

What You’ll Work On

This position is responsible for general food service work involving varied tasks including preparing food for all stations, specials and other food stations. Responsible for sanitation and food safety in designated food station. Assist Café management with food production, catering and other designated projects and events. Must possess the ability to:Maintain a high level of quality and integrity of food confidence with customersProvide outstanding customer serviceAssist Chef in Kitchen preparationAbility to follow a recipe to Chef’s/Team specificationAbility to follow computer based recipe (s) accuratelyAssist Chef with food ordering for the designated stationsMaintain food ordering sheet with needed food requests to ensure that product is on handAssist in putting away stockOpen kitchen and turn on equipment as requiredMaintain sanitation of station, sanitation certificationDeliver catering ordersCommunicate needs to Café Staff accurately and timelyTrain for the ability to fill in at all other Café Stations as neededAbility to input accurate information for inventory programAssist Chef in Kitchen in the proper practice of Preparation & Sanitation TechniquesPartner with cross-functional stakeholdersAbility to Lift 50 poundsWork a flexible schedule as required by catering needsAssist with other Café duties and stations as required

Required Qualifications

Minimum two + years experience in a kitchen environmentStrong customer service skills / Customer Service ExperienceStrong verbal communication skillsMust be knowledgeable about the preparation and production of Entrees, soups and salads in Banquets at high volume paceAbility to prepare quality food in a fast-paced working environmentAbility to be flexible and handle several tasks at onceAbility to follow directionsAbility to understand and follow a recipePositive Customer interaction skills a mustPrior Kitchen Experience of 2-3 years, High volume would be helpfulPrior experience in banquet service a plusFlexibility of working different StationsQuick learning agility

The base pay for this position is $18.25 – $36.55 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
