As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and community banking technology team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsLeads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architectureLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience with Java/Spring/Spring Boot and AWS or any cloud related technologies. Solid experience on application design, coding on Java 8/J2EE distributed application development, RESTHands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilitySolid understanding of Domain model micro services, Spring Boot, Netflix frameworks, API gatewayProficiency in automation and continuous delivery methodsAdvanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityDemonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)Experience in ensuring successful design, development, testing, and implementation of application components for online application using technologies including Core Java, J2EE technologies, web services, tomcat, servlets, JSP, MessagingExperience in XML and Service Oriented Architecture; and Experience in designing and implementing Restful webservices, unix jobs, writing stored procedures and testing the existing application using Junit.Experience with Servlets, JNDI, JMS, JDBC, SQL; Databases such as Oracle, DB2, SQL Server; Operating Systems such as Unix Solaris; Products such as IBM WebSphere, Subversion, Axis, Spring Application Framework Practical cloud native experiencePreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skillsProgramming with NoSQL/NPL a plus (Cassandra)Familiar with big data technologies - Spark, Scala, HDFSFamiliar with modern infrastructure technology and architecture (cloud, virtualization, object stores, etc.)
