Nextens is part of LexisNexis Risk Solutions (LNRS) and operates as an independent unit within it. Our close-knit and enthusiastic team of around 60 colleagues works daily on developing the entire Nextens product line.
Your Role: Lead the Charge
As a Lead Software Engineer, you will guide a small team in designing, developing, and delivering high-quality software solutions to manage complex tax processes. You will take a hands-on approach, facilitating technical decisions and ensuring that solutions are scalable, reliable, and optimized for long-term performance. Your tasks will include creating tax calculation algorithms, integrating tax processing systems, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. Your team will depend on you for technical leadership in both code quality and design decisions.
In this role, you’ll:
Lead the development of calculation algorithms to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of tax filingsTranslate complex tax rules into practical code, ensuring software compliance with changing regulationsDesign and implement integrations for tax filing systems, ensuring compliance with required standardsDevelop and refine system architecture to scale efficiently, handling large volumes of tax data annually.Optimize tax processes by implementing calculation logic that maximizes efficiency and minimizes errors.Collaborate closely with the delivery manager and team to prioritize tasks, solve technical challenges, and ensure successful project delivery.Foster collaboration within your team and with other teams, such as legal and tax experts, to optimize tax rules in the software.You have an eye for detail and take pride in software that not only works but can be trusted with certainty. This means thinking smart, testing thoroughly, and collaborating with colleagues to develop the best solutions. What You Bring
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.7+ years of experience in software development, with expertise in .NET Core, Azure, and Angular.Experience leading software development projects or teams, including technical decision makingA strong ability to break down complex problems into actionable technical tasksFluency in English and conversational Dutch.Why Join Us?
