We are seeking a creative Lead Software Engineer who has experience building modern cloud services to join our team today. You will work in hybrid mode, based in Brisbane, Australia.

  

Responsibilities 

Ensure technology and people complies with company's Trust Commitments

Ensure that all business activities are conducted in line with company values and policies

Lead a development team of engineers located in Australia and the Philippines by providing coaching and career development of team members

Contribute to all aspects of software development, such as design, implementation, and maintenance, working to create and maintain the most reliable, secure, performant and high throughput service for our customers by building and leading a team of developers that build cutting-edge cloud and edge technologies

Partner closely with product managers, product owners, software architects and other stakeholders to iteratively turn high-level requirements into product enhancements that are delivered to customers incrementally and continually

Own delivery of committed work, driving performant, scalable, quality and forward-thinking solutions to completion on time

Maintain software development lifecycle, test strategy, project management process and other key software processes and methodologies

Co-own software design and architecture by leveraging design patterns and injecting your expertise into the entire development lifecycle, writing and maintaining documentation where necessary

Own and drive improvements to processes and technical methodologies that increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the team in responding to customer and business needs

Identify and promote the remedy of technical debt in line with business goals  

Provide technical guidance and constructive feedback to leadership, team members and other stakeholders, which includes writing, reading, and reviewing code and designs, and participating in the various technical feedback loops happening within the organization

Contribute to technical product roadmaps, working with stakeholders to scope work

Resolve issues related to the organization’s product engineering operations, delivery and other critical functions using available company resources 

Contribute to planning for required resources and tools to manage process, staff resource, risks and changes  

Work with team members in other regions to coordinate and maximize efforts 

Minimum Qualifications 

BS or MS in computer science, related technology field, or equivalent experience

You have 10+ years of hands-on experience with application software and infrastructure engineering, containerized microservices, system architecture, product delivery and high traffic customer-facing enterprise solutions

You also have 5+ years of leading software teams; managing all aspects of engineering team operations, performance and growth / recruitment  

Experience with JavaScript in Node.js and web browser environment as well as Groovy

In-depth understanding of the entire software development lifecycle with testing approaches across the test pyramid

REST API development experience, and understanding of the API client development point of view

Experience in building, deploying, and orchestration of containerized workloads at scale

Experience developing, managing and supporting operation of an integration-Platform-as-a-Service (iPaaS) 

Experience in supporting integration platform capabilities in both cloud and edge environments  

Detail-oriented approach to building secure, stable, software

Familiarity with DevOps and DevSecOps and Agile development practices

Experience with CI/CD and building deployment pipelines using tools like Jenkins

Experience with GIT or equivalent version control system, and source code management

Ability to operate effectively and independently in a dynamic, fluid environment

Experience with AWS, MongoDB, Messaging (both streaming and queueing), Secret Management, Caching systems 

Experience with application of network and infrastructure, application and operational cybersecurity practices, GDPR and other privacy requirements

Experience with early identification and resolution of potential scale inhibitors 

Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) for both external customers and internal teams in English 

Collaborative and inclusive approach 

Passion for emerging technology and software development lifecycle, including current industry trends and their application
