Lead Security Engineer

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Cultivate security culture with product technology and the business team. Embed security fundamentals such as threat modelling, solutions architecture, secure code review into agile product development by empowering technology teams to ship secure products faster. Understand the product strategy and roadmap as well as its key investment programs. Identify unfamiliar technology components, capabilities, and business concepts. Apply critical thinking to identify hidden issues. Provide expertise in the cyber risk posture of the entire Product. Learn from the product and cybersecurity teams and share best practice in both directions. Establish the role as a clear point of escalation and subject matter expert for IT Risk and Cyber domains. Act with urgency managing emerging issues. Proactively monitor Key Risk Indicators to ensure issues are identified, quantified, communicated, and managed in a timely manner, including recommendations for resolution and identifying the root cause/key themes. Partner and influence across your product’s supply chain. Work collaboratively with product, technology, and business colleagues on an on-going basis for business-as-usual audit and regulatory engagements, risk activities and project initiatives, with a focus on Cloud computing / emerging technologies. This position requires up to 5% domestic travel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Software Development, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as a Lead Security Engineer, Software Developer, Technical Lead, Project Leader, Consultant, Computer Programmer, or related occupation.

Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: enterprise observability platforms; Public Cloud computing, including how security controls are applied to data and how to leverage enterprise-grade identity patterns; Translating firm wide policy or regulatory requirements into control design and definition; Cybersecurity through solutions architecture and secure code reviews; Agile through the application of leading-edge technologies and methodologies; analyzing complex data systems and develop and maintain technical engineering documentation and ability to evangelize benefits to internal consumers; Utilizing tools CI/CD tools including Jenkins, Terraform, Bitbucket and Git; Kubernetes; and microservices-based architectures.

Job Location: 8181 Communications Pkwy, Plano, TX 75024. This position requires up to 5% domestic travel. Telecommuting permitted up to 40% of the week.
