Lead Respiratory Therapist Needed for Spaulding Hospital - Cambridge MA
Shift\: 40 hr. days with on-call weekend rotation
Setting\: Long Term Acute Care (Inpatient)
Summary
Perform activities in diagnostic evaluation, therapy, life-sustaining techniques, and education of patients and families of all age groups, neonatal to geriatric. A high level of expertise in ventilator and tracheostomy management and sophisticated diagnostic procedures is required.
Key Responsibilities
Perform respiratory procedures per established guidelines.Performs and oversees DC planning and patient/family education.
Supports the Point of Care RT supervisor with daily lab maintenance, lab quality, staff support, equipment performance, staff assessment, analysis, reporting of results, and intervention. Performs new staff clinical competency and orientation. Performs annual RT and nursing classes and competencies. Monitors staff for completing competency. Bronchoscopy and ultrasound support. Attends clinical team meetings for ITC, safety committees, Medical Alerts, and rapid responses as directed by the RT director. Maintains tracheostomy data log logs for tracking time to decannulation. Performs PFTs Promotes projects to decrease the LOS and improve patient outcomes. Associate’s Degree required.
