Context
In this role, you will:

Provide regulatory expertise, guidance, and risk assessments to advise partners on opportunities and risks related to packaging legislation.

Influence legislation through advocacy to shape and support optimum outcomes for our brands and reputation.

Establish standard processes for managing packaging compliance, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements while aligning with Diageo’s sustainability ambitions.

Lead the business through in implementing of the EU Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation

Key Accountabilities:

Conduct thorough global horizon scanning to identify changes to legislation relating to product packaging globally.  

Complete thorough assessments of legislation to determine opportunities and risks, considering short, medium and long term positions.

Create reports and presents opportunities and risks to key partners in a clear and concise manner.

Maintain and develop processes to successfully manage regulatory compliance of packaging components, considering the rapidly changing regulatory environment for packaging globally and Diageo’s Sustainability ambition.

Collaborate with Corporate Relations, Legal, Sustainability and Brand Change & Innovation, providing Regulatory expertise and guidance to support the creation of policies packaging.

Qualifications and Experience

You will have a Relevant Qualification in Technical/Science or Law and Significant regulatory experience in packaging legislation, ideally in the food or consumer goods industry. Knowledge and experience of EU legislative processes is essential, with other jurisdictions desirable.
