Lead Production Technician

Job Overview:

Linde Gases US, a division of Linde, is currently seeking a Production Technical Lead based at the Linde Air Separation facility located in Chesterton, IN. This position reports to the Production Superintendent and is primarily responsible for leading daily production activities and supervising plant operators and maintenance personnel.

Primary Responsibilities:

Lead and/or support resolution of all issues related to plant operationsLead Production Team in daily production activities across three Air Separation Plants, a neon refinery, a rare gas crude refinery, and several associated processes.Develop and revise site-specific operating proceduresEnsure plant performance optimization by reviewing and analyzing plant efficiencies and exploring solutions with the teamSupport startups and lead the troubleshooting for plant upsetsCreate and execute Lock Out Tag Out proceduresSupport product downtime tracking and reportingCoordinate with logistics teams based on site inventories and schedulesAdhere to and ensure compliance with safety, quality assurance, and environmental regulations Identify and monitor potential reliability issues, and support Root Cause Investigation analysisEncourage good housekeeping practices among Linde employees and contractorsLead and/or support productivity/cost reduction/reliability projects at the facilityCreate purchase orders or requisitions for required supplies and equipmentSupport Production Technician Training and Development Assist Production Superintendent with process relief device compliance and Maintenance Work Order system management and execution

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GEDMinimum 4 years of industrial operations experienceCompetency with computers, Microsoft applications (Word, Excel), email, and process control computer systemsExperience reviewing data for troubleshootingKnowledge of and compliance with safety procedures and regulationsSafe driving recordMust be able and willing to work overtime as required and be on call, as required for the roleMust be willing and able to travel overnight on occasion, with travel estimated at <5% of the time Ability to lift 20-50 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, and <10 lbs. constantly Position requires outdoor work year-round that may involve climbing 200' tall columns, heavy lifting and the use of man-lifts, forklifts, and driving work vehicles within the plant

Process Technology Degree or equivalent qualificationPrevious experience in team leadership rolesCryogenic Air Separation experience5 years of rotating equipment experience
