Lead Procurement Specialist

Purchasing Supervisor - Mining

 

12 months fixed term contract, leading to Permanent role.

Perth CBD, on-site in the office (5 days) 

 

 

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Purchasing Supervisor to lead our procurement operations in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will bring strong SAP ECC expertise, a deep understanding of the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process, and a proven track record of leadership in transactional purchasing—ideally within the heavy vehicle and mining sectors.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise day-to-day transactional purchasing activities, ensuring timely and accurate creation and management of Purchase Orders (POs).

Lead a team of purchasing officers, providing guidance, mentoring, and performance management.

Manage supplier relationships, delivery schedules, and resolve procurement-related issues promptly.

Ensure compliance with internal policies, budgetary constraints, and procurement regulations.

Oversee SAP ECC system usage within the purchasing team, ensuring proper function, data integrity, and process optimization.

Support cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.

Monitor and report on procurement metrics and performance indicators.

Collaborate cross-functionally with planning, operations, and finance teams.

 

Requirements:

Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.

Strong expertise in SAP ECC and the end-to-end P2P process.

Demonstrated leadership capacity and experience managing procurement teams.

Proven experience in heavy vehicle or mining project environments. (preferred)

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume purchasing environment.

Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
