The Lead Personal Trust Assistant will provide support to Relationship Manager(s) and management and their clients. May include supervision of Personal Trust Assistant staff. This support includes responsibility for daily coordination of account administration for personal trust and agency relationships. Maintain accounts by initiating a range of account activity, monitoring account records to ensure accuracy and completeness, and responding to client inquiries. Assist Relationship Managers in developing additional business, making client presentations and coordinating with internal partners. Work with Relationship Managers to ensure adherence to standards and regulatory requirements. Working directly with clients and internal partners to solve problems and provide superior customer service. May participate in projects. May administer a small book of business of low to mid complexity with the oversight of a Relationship Manager. May attend Client meetings.
This person will also:
Coordinate daily trust account operations; ensure timely processing, compliance, and documentation.
Provide administrative and sales support to Relationship Managers, including scheduling, reporting, correspondence, and preparing presentation materials.
Collaborate with internal partners (e.g., legal, credit, customer care) to resolve client issues and support financial planning efforts.
Deliver direct client service, addressing complex questions and operational issues with a focus on exceptional service.
Supervise and train Personal Trust Assistant staff, oversee workflow, quality, and performance management.
Use trust systems to manage account activity, including openings/closings, discretionary payments, and daily transactions (e.g., bill pay, ACH, wires).
Review trust documents for compliance, identify risk issues, and ensure adherence to legal and fiduciary standards.
Partner with Relationship Managers to align administration with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Education
Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a Paralegal Certification. Required
Experience
4-7 years Banking or office/administrative or paralegal in a trust or investment environment. Required
2-4 years Knowledge of banking, trust and investment products, services, procedures, and practices. Required
Licenses and Certifications
CTFA-Certified Trust and Financial Advisor. Preferred
CFP-Certified Financial Planner. Preferred
