Lead Mechanic
**Job Title: Lead Mechanic** **Job Description** Responsible for the safe and efficient repair and maintenance of all company-owned equipment in a manner that is cost-effective and timely. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and maintaining fleet vehicles and other company equipment. Additionally, the incumbent will supervise the daily operations of the mechanic department, ensuring all fleet equipment is maintained in a safe and serviceable manner. **Responsibilities** + Schedule routine preventive maintenance on all equipment and notify the appropriate job superintendent of upcoming PMs scheduled for equipment on that job site. + Perform basic repairs and preventive maintenance on all company-owned vehicles and equipment, which may include the overhaul or replacement of components. + Respond to requests for work in a timely and cost-effective manner, investigating alternative methods for completing repair work. + Maintain inventory of repair parts and supplies. + Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop area at all times, establishing and maintaining a repair and maintenance library for reference. + Ensure all paperwork, including time cards, work orders, invoices, tickets, inventory control, fuel tickets, and parts, is completed accurately and promptly. + Develop, supervise, and monitor the performance of all work, assigning duties to shop employees as experience, scheduling, and business needs indicate. **Essential Skills** + Experience with diesel engines and heavy equipment. + Ability to work on various types of equipment including skid steers, telehandlers, boom lifts, truck loaders, semis, and scissors lifts. + Mechanical aptitude and experience with construction and maintenance repair. + Valid Driving License. + Valid Class A Commercial Driving License (Preferred). + Must possess or acquire a full set of appropriate tools. **Work Environment** The role is based in a shop environment. Standard working hours are from 7 AM to 3:30 PM. The dress code includes steel toes, jeans, and layers as needed. The physical demands include standing, sitting, walking, using hands to finger, handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and talking or hearing. The employee must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
