Lead Mechanic
Job Summary Ensures the company's facility needs are met by providing services and maintenance to ensure the safe and efficient operations of all equipment utilized for maintenance activities, determining the actual needs for material and equipment, and maintaining and improving current facilities cost effectively. Responsible for the inspection, maintenance and repair of power mechanical equipment and company vehicles. Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities Prepares accurate records on maintenance, repairs and fuel levels of equipment. Maintains all decals, safety warnings and company ID stickers. Completes work orders for internal and external repairs. Repairs power and mechanical equipment. Maintains company vehicles. Checks and refuels equipment. Under takes complex repair and maintenance projects. Reports safety violations to supervisor. Is sought out and/or assigned to provide general guidance/direction, training, and technical assistance to junior level support personnel. Contributes to employees' professional development but does not have hiring/firing authority. Nature and Scope May modify processes to resolve situations. Under limited supervision, relies on experience and exercises independent judgment to determine the best approach to achieve desired outcomes. Course of action is often determined by interpreting procedures and policies. Minimum Qualifications Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable Environmental Job Requirements Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes, which may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness. No travel required. Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment, some of which may be heavy (50+ pounds) or awkward. Education and Experience Technical certification or associate degree may be required in some areas. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related area of responsibility. Preferred Qualifications Experience in the mechanical field.
