What is the opportunity?
The Data engineering team in RBC IS plays a critical role to implement Data strategy. The team supports data automation and democratization processes including gap analysis and enterprise data modeling, centralizes heterogeneous data sources, builds automated data pipelines, custom APIs to meet Data and Digital needs of stakeholders.
As a member of a dynamic, fast paced team, this role brings strong development skills and leadership, effective written and verbal communication skills, a strong work ethic and a demonstrated capability to multi-task effectively. This role requires strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills as well as a demonstrated sense of urgency to respond to changing priorities at times. This is complemented by a positive attitude and a willingness to take accountability for results achieved.
What will you do?
As a Lead Full Stack Developer, you will own the delivery of Data and digital solutions and integrate with across multiple systems across various geographies. This role will encompass an end-to-end delivery of Web portal and APIs, Access Permission services, Integration with Digital channels and Data services with automate-first mindset to ensure on-time, on-budget, high quality results. Key activities include:
Solution architecture, Design, development, integration of Web portals (Single Page Application)
Build and publish/consume APIs leveraging Cloud based Data sets as per functional requirements, apply best practices and Enterprise standards through container-based solutions.
Ensure compliance with Enterprise cyber security standards and proactively remediate vulnerabilities, End of Life infrastructure, penetration testing etc.
Ensure delivery of scalable, fault tolerant and robust solution to meet Low latency and highly performant services
Ensure compliance with AODA and Enterprise accessibility standards at all times.
Apply Agile delivery methodology and participate in sprint ceremonies
Collaborate with Scrum master, Product owners, Data Engineers, architects, other technology professionals and business stakeholders
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have:
7+ years of hands-on experience in following key technologies:
Full stack development: Node.JS, Angular, MSSQL server, Python, Redis
Cloud technologies: Azure stack, Databricks, Azure SQL, Openshift, AWS S3
Automation/DevOps: Jenkins, Selenium and similar technologies
Source code control: GIT
Experience working in agile/SaFe environment
Nice to Have:
Master’s degree in Computer science or equivalent experience
Hands on experience with Data modeling and data architecture
Security frameworks: LDAP, Kerberos, OAuth 2.0, Vault integration
DevOps: Nexus, UCD, JFrog Artifactory
Comfortable applying engineering best practices for Test Driven Development, integration testing, version control, Continuous Integration
