We have an immediate opening for a Security Technician at our Kanata office Reporting directly to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for responding to, and resolving service calls, providing technical support and solving problems for Honeywell customers located across Eastern Ontario. Additional responsibilities related to the technical delivery of small service jobs, time and material work and preventive maintenance may be assigned as well. These customers will have various products installed that fall into life safety, fire and security systems (card access systems, DVM/Cameras, alarm, RTLS) integration, category as well as their associated computer systems. The goal is to ensure system up-time and efficiency. Be the face of Honeywell to the customer and interact directly with end-users, peers, and competitors. Share knowledge of Honeywell solutions to improve efficiencies and team ability. Become a technical specialist for sophisticated Honeywell solutions/product offerings.

\n\n

The ideal candidate will have an Electrical / Electronic diploma or experience with fault finding/repairs of electronic equipment or maintenance of IT systems including hardware and software (server management, network configuration/troubleshooting, programming, etc.).

\n\n

The Honeywell building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP clearance.

\n\n

Key Responsibilities:

\n\n\n\tProvide customer software and hardware support to remote deployment teams for a globally Integrated Solution\n\tResolve customer challenges quickly and efficiently\n\tAnalyze system logs and perform routine audits to improve system performance and efficiency\n\tPrioritize and lead a range of tasks while working in a fast-paced environment with multiple partners\n\tProvide software and hardware design, development and implementation support\n\tAssist customer with Life Cycle Management and software upgrade planning and deployment strategies\n\tBuild and maintain accurate records, reports, system configuration documentation and action lists\n\tLead and document reoccurring meetings both with customer and internal\n\tFormal reporting and site documentation\n\n\n\n

YOU MUST HAVE:

\n\n\n\tCollege Diploma in electrical or electronics related field\n\t3+ years of field experience in electronics or computer programming/administration \n\tValid G driver’s License\n\tAbility to acquire Top Secret Federal Government Clearances\n\tAbility to be part of an on-call rotation\n\n\n

WE VALUE:

\n\n\n\tCFAA certification or in process of attaining it\n\tBasic knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory\n\tExperience in the Access control and CCTV fields \n\tExperience working in a server-based environment \n\tPrevious electronic security/fire suppression industry experience\n\tPrevious technical / installation experience\n\tA solid grasp of IT network communications technology\n\tApplication Programming Experience (JAVA, Apache Tomcat, VB Script)\n\tKnowledge and experience working with Domain Services, Microsoft Office and Visio\n\tExtraction and manipulation of reports\n\tSuperb communication, interpersonal and organizational skills\n\tPrevious customer service experience\n\tAbility to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and diagrams\n\tBilingual in French and English\n\n\n
