Lead EVS Tech - Environmental Services - Full Time - Days

The Team Lead will plan, organize, execute, control and coordinate work activities of the Evening and Night shifts of the Environmental Services personnel. The Team Lead will be Inspecting daily work areas and maintain the highest possible standards to promote a Clean, Attractive, Odor Free and Safe Environment. The Team Lead will when short, staffed assist with the daily cleaning of any assigned area. The Team Lead will have problem solving skills, and the ability to follow directions in relations to Health and Safety regulations, has attention to detail, is safety conscience and can deliver exceptional customer service, be a good communicator, encourage a good work ethic and display a positive attitude.

1. Works in compliance with and Supports established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, Quality Assurance programs and Safety standards. Follows all department guidelines and infection control practices. Is familiar with and can speak to Department’s Quality Indicators and the role that they have in achieving or surpassing targeted goals.
2. Inspects assigned areas, observing, and evaluating compliance with established quality standards. Monitors, motivates, and documents staff performance to ensure optimal efficiency and adherence to quality standards. Prepares Daily Checklist addressing activities and projects. Will conduct a Daily Team Huddle.
3. Interacts, communicates with Patients, Management, and other various department leaders to ensure proper coordination of efforts, safety, and cleanliness of areas.
4. Maintains adequate staffing (within budget guidelines) to meet established workloads, revising schedules and assignments as needed. Will manage the EPIC Bed Board tool.
5. Assists in the interview process for new staff. Provides education and instruction for new staff. Provides continuing education to staff on Department Quality Indicators.
6. Evaluates ways to improve existing schedules or cleaning methods for additional needs and new areas. Makes recommendations for departmental improvements.
7. Assume responsibility for the Department in the absence of the Manager.
8. Counsel staff and recommend discipline when necessary. Assist with Performance Appraisals.
9. Participates in educational programs enhancing professional growth, in-service meetings. Completes HealthStream assignments.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Education: High school degree or equivalent
Skills: Must be able to follow oral or written instructions. Basic computer knowledge. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, be reliable and responsible.
Years of Experience: 1 year related to Healthcare Cleaning.
Physical Demands: Moderate physical effort (lift/carry up to 30lbs. Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking.
