Role Summary The lead engineering technician will be responsible for supporting advanced development and software integration vehicle fleets. This includes setting up tools , processes, shop spaces and teams . This role will be working very closely with engineering for advanced development projects supporting prototype build, commissioning and test. Deep understanding of electric vehicle systems and excellent leadership skills are required. Responsibilities Leading engineering technician team to support advanced development and software integration. Setting up and managing a new shop working with engineering and facility teams Hands on work building, testing, and diagnosing prototype benches and vehicles Support testing of early prototype vehicles Perform complex diagnosis, repairs, installations, and inspections on vehicles Perform vehicle repairs in a setting outside of a service center Conduct road tests on vehicles to ensure quality of the repair Perform necessary parts operations such as parts ordering, receiving, shipping and inventory Stay up to date with technical skills and required training Qualifications Graduated from an accredited automotive repair school preferred 10 or more years of automotive experience preferred Experience working in R&D environment Strong track record of leadership and developing teams Proficient in navigating diagnostic tools Extensive experience in bumper-to-bumper diagnosis and repair Ability to drive non-commercial truck and trailer preferred Ability to travel as needed Must possess a valid driver’s license, and maintain a clean driving record No driving related suspensions or revocation of Driver License (within a 3-5year period) Parts department and billing experience preferred Experience using a work order management system including repair documentation Experience working in start-up environments preferred Physical exertion may be required to perform occupational tasks (sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, carrying, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.) Frequent use of hands for purposes of grasping and using tools correctly, entering data, writing communications, or calling customers or internal partners Ability to see, read and interpret documents such as governmental regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions or schematics Pay Disclosure Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: $149,000 - 212,800 USD (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
