Essential Responsibilities
Perform system value optimizationPerform system value optimization work, making tradeoffs in the loads, stability, operation, and performance of the productPerform feasibility studies and develop tech chartsDeliver NPI LoadsPrepare loads inputs, create the simulation model, execute loads simulations, and perform post processingPerform basic operability checks and frequency domain stability checksHand off model and controller parameters to MLA (site specific mechanical loads analysis)Update load envelopesPrepare load certification docsPrepare certification load packages and documentationSupport developing technical strategy to address questions from certification bodies. Support conversations with certification body as needed to address questionsPrepare documentation to address question from certification bodiesDeliver cosimsPrepare co-simulation for validation activities for prototype and fleet leader validationResolve gaps seen between simulations and field measurement.Develop methods and standard workDevelop advancements in load methodsHelp develop design practice updates with chief engineer officeDevelop standard work updatesDevelop loads toolchainDevelop improvements to the pre and post processing toolchainProject/Fleet SupportProvide SVO related project support Help develop technical frameworks for non-standard workOverarchingCoordinate with the System integration team on project plans and strategiesPrepare and support design reviewsPrepare technical underwriting documents to support design reviewsAssess risk and develop mitigation strategiesUpdate loads DFMEA (design failure mode and effects analysis)Lead lean and industrialization initiativesQualification/Requirements
B.S. + 3 yrs experience in Mechanical, Wind, Systems, or Aerospace Engineering from accredited university (or equivalent)Desired Characteristics
Experience in preparing loads for wind turbinesExperience in root cause analysisExperience in Systems Engineering for wind turbinesDemonstrated problem solving skills for complex problemsStrong oral and written communication skills, clarity of thought, and ability to defend a technical positionMaster of Mechanical, Wind, Systems, or Aerospace EngineeringAdditional InformationRelocation Assistance Provided: Yes
