As a Lead Data Engineer, you will bring your technical skills to a hospitality company with an award-winning culture. On the Enterprise Architecture & Data team reporting to the Director Data Engineering, you will build cloud-based solutions to support Global and APAC Analytics, Data Science, Software Engineering, and our Compliance/Regulatory functions' ability to improve products to position Hilton as a creative industry leader along with ensuring the appropriate protections to our data. You will apply technical and business ability to transform raw data into useful data systems.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

\n

Your role is important and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique.

\n

What your day-to-day will be like:

\n\nApply industry principles, methodologies, and tools throughout the application lifecycle to transform the design specifications into data pipelines to address customer needs.\nImplement testing strategies for these solutions to ensure they align with Hilton standards and provide the appropriate controls and safeguards to ensure the quality and security of our data.\n\n

How you will collaborate with others:

\n\nCollaborate with technical product owners, data architects, data modelers, developers, run operations in both Americas and APAC region to develop enterprise data solutions on both Global AWS and China AWS/Alibaba cloud environments.\nCollaborate with APAC during late evening calls\nTransition the final solutions to our Operations team for ongoing support by defining standard operating procedures and conducting knowledge transfer sessions.\n\n

What projects or deliverables you will take ownership of: 

\n\nMultiple initiatives under EAD, building data pipeline in both Global and APAC region to send and receive data following the compliance standards and enforce data governance policies.\nDevelop and support large-scale batch and real-time data pipelines with data processing frameworks with high quality and efficiency on multi-cloud environment\n\n

WHY YOU'LL BE A GREAT FIT

\n

You have these minimum qualifications:

\n\nFive (5) years of work experience in Technology or a related field\nFour (4) years if working experience in AWS or Alibaba cloud environment\nThree (3) years of experience with Big Data technologies, including but not limited to Hadoop, Spark, Python, Glue, Lambda, AWS Lake Formation, Redshift, PostgreSQL, MySQL and Hive\nTwo (2) years of enterprise design and development building cloud data warehouse\nTwo (2) years of experience with ETL or ELT technologies\nTwo (2) years of software/platform design and implementation experience\nAbility to travel up to 10%\n\n

It would be useful if you have:

\n\n\nBachelor’s Degree, or Associate’s Degree plus 6+ years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus 12+ years of Technology related experience \nSeven (7) + years of professional work experience in Technology or related field\nFluent in both English and Mandarin\nExposure to Big Data technologies such as Spark-SQL, Data Frame, Pair RDD's, Spark YARN, EMR\nAny Licenses or Certifications or Trainings in AWS, Alibaba, Talend or Informatica\nHands-on experience developing ETL jobs (batch and real-time) for structured and unstructured data using Scala, Python, Lambda, MapReduce, AWS Data Pipeline, AWS Glue, AWS EMR, Step Functions, Apache Kafka, Airflow\nHands-on experience in Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, My SQL, PostgreSQL, Athena, and Redshift\nExperience implementing solution in of cloud Data-Lake, Warehouse, Marts and Master Data environments.\nExperience in RDBMS and Columnar databases including SQL and performance tuning the database for large datasets\n\n\n\n\n
