Job Summary

Manages supplier-facing Category Management for assigned product categories. Leads ongoing review of assigned categories and associated market related analysis, providing direction and expertise around how to optimize current supplier programs. Manages Owens & Minor’s supplier category approach for assigned product categories, providing clear articulation and strategy in sales growth delivery. Leads a Category Management Team, overseeing analysis, product portfolio recommendations, category specific product sales, and growth opportunity tracking. Collaborates with key suppliers to develop, formalize and gain consensus in market approach.

Core Responsibilities

Drives overall growth and profitability of their assigned categories. Engages with suppliers to develop the appropriate programs and support required to deliver enhanced supplier funding based on Owens & Minor’s product portfolio strategy.Manages assigned product categories, engaging with internal Sales and Operations Teams to identify opportunities to improve profitability and build competitive healthcare provider offerings.Analyzes product sales performance data. Recommends modifications to Owens & Minor’s portfolio strategy to drive product program success. Looks to consolidate available product offerings where possible to drive share growth with suppliers.Advises the Skin Health Specialty Solutions Leadership Team on category specific strategies, market approach and implementation plans to meet annual budget objectives.Works in collaboration with the Inventory Performance Management team to manage SKU details and supplier rationalization programs.Identifies process improvements to increase system efficiencies.Assists and prepares presentations to be delivered to senior management, and field teammates on category initiatives.Monitors Category and Program performance. Provides monthly status updates to senior management

Qualifying Experience

Bachelor’s Degree required; graduate Degree in related field (Marketing, Healthcare, Business Administration) preferredFive (5) or more years of related experience in marketing, operations, or category managementIn depth knowledge of healthcare products, distribution, and supply chains preferredIntimate knowledge of the healthcare products landscape preferredDetailed knowledge of products and product developmentAbility to engage and develop C-Suite relationshipsExcellent verbal and written communication skills (fluency in multiple languages preferred)Excellent sales and negotiation skillsAbility to work across departments (Operations, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Inventory Management, etc.) to solicit and obtain input, and the required internal engagement to accomplish organizational objectivesAbility to manage multiple projects at one time
