Job Description:
The Lead Business Intelligence Analyst, will work directly with the Director of Strategy and BD Operations in the Space Systems sector. The individual is an experienced professional with interest in business growth as well as business operations management and improvement. The role will range in support across both business development operations functions, management of strategic projects and initiatives, as well as support to division level proposal and capture needs. This role is perfect for a professional looking to take their career to a broader space sector level utilizing skills developed from various business development and program management roles. This individual will be asked to work closely with BD Ops senior manager, mission solutions architects, engineers, marketing, and program management teams to manage discretionary budgets, and implement business development initiatives. Supporting efforts will include development of strategic relationships with partners or potential customers and at times be responsible for providing support to the BD team to analyze market intelligence and industry trends to provide competitive analysis.
Essential Functions:
• Responsible for coordination between segment, sector, and division level BD Analytics requests to include analysis and management of sales pipeline, orders, and discretionary budgets• Responsible for gathering, tracking, and forecasting discretionary budget spend against target• Proficient in spreadsheets, data visualization, and financial software applications• Work with Business Development and Finance to facilitate long-range planning cycles to support current year and strategic planning forecasts• Develop and track new business and discretionary data metrics at the Sector and division level• Ability to generate innovative insights from analysis, communicates results effectively, and work with business partners in developing and implementing new methodologies and analysis to drive actionable results• Ability to manage large, complex project initiatives of strategic importance to the organization, involving large cross-functional teams in more of a program/project management role The projects will range in focus across both operations as well as Strategic initiatives both internally and potentially external to the company• Provide problem-solving, conducts analysis and research, develops recommendations, and communicates well-articulated conclusions verbally and through written presentation material• High level of integrity, open and productive collaboration, teamwork across multiple functions within the sector• High-energy, willingness to learn, organization, initiative and attention to detail• Identify areas for significant improvements in process, systems, solutions, or products to enhance the SBD organization• Proven proficiency to prioritize tasks and organize a workload to ensure most important issues are addressed first
Qualifications:
• In-depth knowledge of project management, program management and budget management• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience; Or, Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience; Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience• Project management experience and skills including demonstrated ability to think end-to-end and manage multiple priorities/projects simultaneously• Experience with Microsoft office products, specifically Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Powerpoint Willingness to learn and utilize PowerBI and other financial tools
Preferred Additional Skills:
• Program management background skill set is strongly desired to effectively and efficiently run large projects/initiative to include leadership skills and budget management• Strong skill set in other supporting Business development areas to include: capture management, proposal management, customer identification and engagement, engagement with external tech development companies as well as internal engagement with IRAD/engineering office • Top Secret or TS/SCI Clearance• Experience with Department of Defense and/or Intelligence Community• High level of business/financial acumen• Competency making decisions with imperfect and incomplete information
