Job Summary

As a Fire Crew Chief, you will ensure the safety and protection of personnel and assets through effective fire prevention and response strategies. You will embody KBR's zero harm ethos, prioritizing safety and proactive risk management in all operations. Responsibilities include planning, developing, and implementing fire protection policies and procedures, as well as coordinating departmental operations and training.

Roles and Responsibilities

Operate and maintain fire protection services.Post appropriate warning signs and promote public awareness of fire prevention measures.Conduct fire safety inspections and drills.Provide fire prevention and response training to designated personnel.Ensure fire extinguishers, detection devices, and other fire safety devices and equipment are operable.Conduct fire extinguisher maintenance and recharge in accordance with manufacturer's specifications, NFPA 101, NFPA 10, and 29 CFR 1910.157.Review construction and mitigation plans, confer with engineers, and provide technical/practical assistance on fire prevention and building design criteria.Identify and review the status of base fire deficiencies and coordinate with the Prevention Fire Chief and other agencies for necessary corrective actions.Conduct recurring proficiency training in each functional area of fire protection.Assess capabilities of fire protection programs, recommend changes when necessary, and manage fire warden personnel to ensure applicability of program objectives.Maintain a comprehensive program for on-the-job and proficiency training.Assist another site's Inspector when requested, if applicable.Assist the site's GSM with other duties when not performing Fire Prevention duties as needed.

Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

Must be certified by the DoD Fire and Emergency Services Fire Fighter Certification system as Fire Inspector II, Fire Instructor I, HazMat Awareness, and Public Fire and Life Safety Educator (must obtain within 12 months if not already certified).Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Fire Inspector.In-depth knowledge of and experience implementing the NFPA code.Experience in supervision and management skills.Familiarity with all primary functions of fire protection (prevention).Strong skills in teaching others and conducting classes.Basic knowledge of the methodology for conducting Fire Prevention academies.Full range of experience in the operations of fire prevention systems (sprinklers, alarm systems, hood and duct systems, etc.).Requires a valid passport with at least 12 months of validity and 6 blank pages.

Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

Certifications such as HazMat Train the Trainer or HazMat Technician, On Scene Commander Course, NIMS 100, 200, 700 & 800.Willingness to travel up to 50% or more from base to base.
