Ecolab is seeking a Law Manager - Trademark Specialist with a solid understanding of international trademark portfolio management to support Ecolab’s global businesses. This position will primarily support the trademark team in building, maintaining and protecting the Ecolab trademark portfolio globally.
Main Responsibilities
Support global trademark prosecution activities, including trademark clearance, filings, prosecution, and maintenance. Communicate and coordinate with US and foreign trademark counsel regarding trademark registration, maintenance, and enforcement. Monitor upcoming deadlines and supervise docketing activities. Assist trademark attorneys with trademark monitoring, enforcement and dispute matters, and gather information and evidence from business teams to support enforcement actions. Review new brand requests received from business teams to confirm alignment with current brand guidelines and policies. Coordinate post-registration filings and renewals worldwide, including maintenance instructions, auditing files, communicating with business teams to confirm use and obtain documentation as needed. Provide support with domain name portfolio management. Review proper trademark usage by business teams and assist with training presentations regarding trademark use and processes.
Key Qualifications
Minimum of five to seven years of trademark experience in a law firm or in-house corporate setting as a trademark attorney or paralegalUniversity Law DiplomaEnglish Fluency and experience working in primarily English-speaking roles. Experience with IP docketing systems, such as WebTMS or FoundationIP. Experience with document-management systems, such as iManage. Experience with trademark portfolio management, clearance, applications, maintenance, renewals, and enforcement. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products. Familiarity with USPTO and foreign trademark databases. Exemplary organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail. Ability to proactively manage a high volume of tasks with competing deadlines through time management and establishing priorities. Ability to maintain a strict level of confidentiality and effectively manage sensitive information with professionalism and speed. Ability to quickly become knowledgeable in a new environment, including knowledge of organizational operations, procedures and staff. Resourcefulness, sound judgment, and tact to appropriately handle requests from all levels, including senior management. A successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and will be reliable, professional, and service oriented.
