Summary

Join our team as a Sanitation Associate! We’re looking for dedicated individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to upholding the highest standards of quality and safety. This position is responsible for general maintenance and cleanliness of all facilities. This position is also referred to as Janitor.

Shift(s)

Monday – Friday 6am – 2pm, with overtime as required.

Performs heavy cleaning duties such as clean all offices, bathrooms, breakrooms, and other areas using compressed air and other methods.

Scrub, sanitize, vacuum, sweep and mop

Dispose of all trash, clean up all spills, replace air fresheners, change out light bulbs, lock doors, paint, prepare facilities for events such as meetings or banquets

Move furniture, supplies, textiles or equipment within departments or into storage and assist other departments with other tasks

Apply insecticides and fumigants, trim shrubbery and perform other outside maintenance, clear walkways of snow or leaves.

Participate in Safety programs such as committees or emergency contingency, use Personal Protective Equipment as needed, notify supervision of repair needs, spills, safety concerns or hazardous situations..

Keep records of cleaning, monitor cleaning supplies, restock supplies in bathrooms, break rooms and other areas

Operate a powered industrial truck to move, transfer, load and unload.

Continuously meet efficiency and safety standards for the position.

Follow instructions as directed by supervision

Keep work area neat and clean.

Perform other tasks as required. Work in other production positions as needed.

Minimum Education High School or equivalent not required but preferred. Experience Requirements

 At least 18 years of age. Legally authorized to work in the United States. Strong work history, worked for one employer for at least 6 months in the past three years. Willing and able to stand for several hours. Lifting up to 50 lbs. Willing and able to work in wet and extreme cold and hot conditions. Willing and able to work around dust, feathers, animals, and various cleaning chemicals. Recognize colors and sizes, count and sort accurately. In some locations, be able and certified to safely operate a powered industrial truck. Basic knowledge of cleaning products and procedures or willing to learn. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively with a team. Work independently, comprehend and follow written or verbal direction.  

Experience Preferred

Excellent work history, worked for one employer for more than 6 months in the past three years. Previous manufacturing, production, especially food production experience.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements Ability to work for 8 hours or more in a stationary position or travel on a wet, moist, dry, greasy, floors which may include medal or plastic grating surfaces with up to 4 hours in a single interval. Ability to work from various types of ladders and/or stairs. Exposure to and work in temperatures of less than -40 degrees and 75 degrees with ambient humidity. Noise exposure of 110 db, and light intensity range of 50 to 100 foot candles. Bending, twisting, lifting up to 50 lbs, reaching, sitting, and grasping varies in repetitions, distance, degrees, angle, weight, heights, longest interval of time, objects grasped, and body positions depending upon the maintenance task required. Exposure to chlorinated water (50 ppm, Ammonia vapors ) 5 ppm, dry ice, caustic detergents, lubricating oils, hydraulic oils, and other chemicals found in a poultry processing plant. Must use and / or wear protective and safety equipment required
