Join Our Team as a Landscape Architectural Designer!

Our Waterloo Studio is on the lookout for a talented Landscape Architectural Designer to collaborate with a diverse team of professionals on a wide array of projects. Our work spans local and regional planning initiatives, recreational master planning, and the design of open spaces such as parks, plazas, and streetscapes.

Role accountabilities:

Collaborate with Senior Landscape Architects, Arborists, Planners, and Urban Designers to create innovative, context-sensitive urban environments for both public and private sector projectsGenerate and develop conceptual designsProduce construction documentation and details using AutoCAD Civil3D and/or RevitWork internally and externally with multidisciplinary teams, including Planners, Architects, and EngineersAssist in preparing cost estimates and technical reportsEnsure project deliverables meet local standards and contract requirements.Support contract administration and conduct site visits as needed

 

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or diploma from an accredited institution in Landscape Architecture or Landscape DesignIdeally, 3 to 5 years of relevant post-graduation experience in a professional design firmProficiency in technical detailing, drafting, and landscape construction practices, along with knowledge of local plant materials and experience with municipal/approval agency regulationsExperience in preparing construction documentation such as specifications and schedules of quantities would be an assetProficiency in the latest version of AutoCAD (Civil3D) is mandatoryProficiency in Revit or MicroStation is an assetStrong verbal and written communication skillsKnowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), SketchUp, Revit, and Rhino is considered an assetProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)A valid driver’s license is considered an asset
