Chiquita Canyon Landfill, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a Laborer to join our team in Castaic, CA! This is a full time, long term position with a reputable company.

The days of the week are subject to business needs and seniority, but this position will be working weekdays starting at 7AM and alternating Saturdays (typically 1 Saturday off per month). 

Overtime hours are often required - average of 50-60 hours per week.

Starting pay is $19.50/hour. Overtime pay rate is 1.5x the hourly rate.

The pay range for this job category is $19.50 - $21.63/hour.

Responsibilities Include:

Spotting/directing trucksPicking litterCoordinating dump areas for specific waste materialsTraffic management - moving signs and conesEnsuring that all customers are wearing proper PPECleaning Equipment as neededGeneral site cleanup as neededDriving employees to their work stations as neededFueling pick-upsPerforming other assigned duties at the landfill as needed

Requirements:

At least 2 years of work experience.  Preferably in a labor type positionValid Driver's License and clean driving recordThe ability to lift up to 75 poundsExperience operating equipment is a plusAbility to work in all weather conditions throughout entire shiftMechanical ability is a plus.
