Our Edmonton office has a opportunity for a Land Development Field Coordinator within our Community Development Group.
Key Responsibilities: This position involves a combination of local field work and design drafting. Responsibilities may include: Perform construction survey using GPS equipment and electronic total station. Provide survey assistance for site grading, storm and sanitary sewers, watermains, lot services and roadway construction layout. Construction coordination and monitoring (earthworks, underground services, roads and parking lots, ponds, etc). Cost estimating. Drafting of tender and contracts documents (quantity take offs, specifications, etc). Contract administration, preparation of change orders, progress payment certificates, general correspondence. Coordinating utility installations. Liaise with contractors, utility agencies, sub consultants (geotechnical, electrical) clients and Municipal representatives. Ensuring that project needs are met in a timely and effective manner. Daily communication with the Project Manager or land development team. Qualifications: Civil Engineering Technology or CAD Diploma or related field basis with at least 5 years of field experience related to land development and civil works; those who do not possess a relevant diploma may be considered on an equivalency. Survey experience is a must. Must have a good knowledge of CAD –AutoCAD and Civil 3D (preferably) and MS Office Suite and be able to make changes as well as provide design/drafting explanations to the drafting team. Possess a strong eye for detail and have a high degree of problem solving and decision making skills. Must be able to work effectively work with minimal supervision on a variety of projects simultaneously. Ability to manage Clients, Contractors, and Municipal personnel effectively combined with your flexible approach to the work assignment. Self-motivated individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
