D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Land Accountant. The right candidate will apply the principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports; maintain budgets and projected costs regarding land/lot acquisitions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Review job costs for budget variances, cost code errors, dollar amount errors on invoices, etc., for land/lot acquisitionsReview Gross Profit Margins of subdivisionsCreate land spreadsheet for paymentsRun various reports and perform budget trackingPrepare/update land acquisition proformas (LAPs), Forestar proformas, and the Financial Project System (FPS)Run a weekly funding requestAssist vendors with any questionsAssist with reconciling transactions and budgets pertaining to homes sold for the end of month processConducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the companyAbility to travel overnight

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or related area of study) from a four-year college or universityFamiliarity with land/lot contractsPossess strong verbal and written communication skillsProvide attention to detail and manage multiple responsibilitiesAbility to accurately and efficiently process and record large volumes of dataAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applicationsProficiency with MS Office and emailAbility to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral visionThe noise level is generally moderate
