Lancer Explore Institute Program Assistant Bookmark this Posting Print Preview | Apply for this Job Posting Details Posting Detail Information Posting Number Stu01207 Position Title Lancer Explore Institute Program Assistant Department Personal & Prof Development Position Type Student Job Family Job Summary The Lancer Explore Institute ( LEI ) is seeking a responsible and dedicated student worker to assist in providing support to students with disabilities in a college program designed to develop job skills, social skills, and life skills. The student worker will play an essential role in supporting program operations and contributing to the success of our students. · Assist in organizing and preparing materials for classes, workshops, and events. · Provide administrative support, including filing, copying, data entry, emails and phone calls · Help facilitate communication between instructors, students, parents and staff. · Support students with disabilities during classroom activities, ensuring they have access to necessary resources and accommodations · Escort students to and from classrooms, activities, or meetings as needed. · Help with setup and cleanup for classes, events, and special activities. · Collaborate with the program coordinator and instructors to ensure students’ individual needs are met. · Maintain confidentiality of student information and adhere to college policies on accessibility and inclusion. · Perform other duties as assigned related to the LEI program. Required Qualification(s) - Must be a CLC student enrolled in 6 credits for the fall semester. - Demonstrated excellence in spoken and written communication. - Experience working with parents and students in an educational setting. - Demonstrated excellence in time management. - Must have at least a 2.5 GPA . - Must be available to attend training in April or May of 2024. - Demonstrated dependability in being on time for scheduled work times. - Demonstrated excellence in communication skills especially as it relates to the position (responding to requests, asking questions, communicating needs, communicating with co-workers, checking in after completing each assignment, etc.) - Commitment to follow department procedures. - Commitment to maintain confidentiality and adhere to college and FERPA guidelines. - Ability to understand and follow procedures consistently. - Demonstrated ability to work with others in a team environment. - Demonstrated ability to work independently if needed. - Demonstrated initiative in work and communication. - Demonstrated strong work ethic. - Must attach an availability schedule with application. Desired Qualification(s) Experience in teaching or training. Experience in working with students with disabilities. Job experiences working directly with the public (customer service). Excellent technology skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Office experience is a plus.
