LAM Risk & Compliance CoS Governance and Engagement Lead.

Role purpose

Support theChief of Staff, Risk and Compliance LAM/MXHead driving strategic initiatives across the function and maintain proper Risk Compliance governance across LAM.Chief of Staff oversees Transformation, Governance, Business Management, Functional Execution, Integral Risk Management Unit, Control Office, Innovation and Criminal Compliance office across RC LAMAssist theChief of Staff, Risk and Compliance LAM/MXHead in committees/forums.Deliver an effective reporting capability at Regional and, where deemed necessary, country level which enables the functions to deliver oversight to relevant governance committees.Collaborate constructively to ensure that the required services are delivered as agreed and to be the focal point for engagement with other sub functions.Ensure that reports to present at relevant Governance Committees provide an accurate and balanced view of the effectiveness of the Risk Compliance control framework and escalate material issues on a timely basis.Facilitate conversations to set year on year Chief of staff’s priorities and ensure its effective communication and follow up.Design and coordinate engagement activities focused on strategy definition and execution, as per Risk and Compliance goals and objectives.Occasionally contribute on key sensitive projects completion.

Impact on the Business

Facilitate adequate reporting of relevant Chief of staff items within the appropriate forums, pursue the escalation of key topics at the scope as per the established governance.Promote and facilitate the permeation of Risk Management culture within LAM Risk and Compliance

Customer / Stakeholders

Reporting toChief of Staff, Risk Compliance LAM/MX Head.Ensure that senior management are appropriately advised of all material Risk Compliance related matters relating to LAM.Ensure that positive relationships are maintained with other external stakeholders relevant to the Risk Compliance agenda.

Leadership and Teamwork

Maintain and develop positive and professional working relationships with senior business managers and Risk Compliance colleagues at the Regional level and those in other Regions and Businesses.Create an environment for the delivery of consistent performance measurement, training, career management and succession planning across the LAM Risk Compliance capability.Serve as liaison among staff and stakeholders regarding organization culture, emerging issues, proposals, and strategy.

Operational Effectiveness and Control

Agree and oversee the implementation, embedding and monitoring of the adherence to the Risk Compliance Governance inLAMPromote agile, innovative, and creative work solutions within the function. Guide peers and stakeholders to enhance overall team efficiency.

Significant experience in the financial services industry, preferably within a large financial institution.Track record of delivery of significant change agenda.Proven ability to manage multiple issues and priorities and demonstrated judgment and poise in challenging circumstances.Lateral thinker with an ability to interpret and solve complex issues.Significant leadership experience and an experienced strategic thinker.Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, with experience of dealing with executives at all levels.Ability to develop practical, cost effective solutions to complex global issues.A legal or formal accountancy qualification or professional background in a relevant risk or audit.
