Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Langley Lanes on JBLE-Langley AFB, VA. This position is guaranteed 0 hours per week but can be scheduled for up to 40 hours per week. The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of limited maintenance work within a bowling facility. Incumbent will promote to Growth Position of Laborer (Bowling Facility Maintenance) NA-3502-03 after six (6) months at current level, based on job performance. Responsibilities Cleans, oils, and polishes the bowling lanes and lane approaches adhering to established standards. Sweeps, dusts, and cleans other areas of the bowling facility. Collects and removes trash. Maintains all areas in a clean and orderly fashion. Hand sands and varnishes minor flaws in lanes until surface can be conditioned. Maintains stock levels and records on spare parts for automatic pinsetter and mechanical equipment. Advises bowling facility management of unusual maintenance problems. Physical Effort: Moderately heavy physical effort is required in occasionally lifting and carrying heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds and in pushing heavy furniture, loading carts, etc. Frequently lifts and carries objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Working Conditions: Works indoors in areas that may be dusty, drafty, and noisy. Special care is required to avoid serious injuries. Qualifying Experience: No previous experience or training required. Must be able to use, control, and clean common handtools and simple power equipment. Must be able to follow oral and/or written instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry medium to heavy objects up to 40 pounds and be able to occasionally lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds. Must be able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach, and work in awkward positions. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical and National Agency Check with Inquires (NACI). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
