Summary

A world leader in food product and industrial ingredients is continuing to expand and have an immediate opening for their Quality Lab. This Quality Lab Tech will support the Quality Control team doing analytical and microbiological testing while following FDA, USDA, and GMP requirements. Playing a vital role in the overall Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions, analyzing both final product and in-process sample streams utilizing HPLC, AA, GC, FT-IR, NIR, Karl Fischer titration, refractive index, particle size distribution, direct and viable micro testing, pH, spectrophotometric methods, microscopic examination as well as physical testing.

ResponsibilitiesPreparation and analysis of various final product and in-process samples utilizing analytical instruments and wet chemistry techniquesFacilitate the plant process flow by providing timely, accurate analysis resultsPosting analysis results into data systems and communicating to plant personnelRecognize abnormal findings and work with process teams to resolveFinal QA/QC of outbound shipments and documenting resultsFollow established analysis methodologiesBasic laboratory equipment maintenanceSupport other departments with analytical and project-based efforts on an ad hoc basisEnsure adherence to all company policies and proceduresUnderstand and demonstrate core values and actively participateAdvance through the skill block system, achieving four 'operate' skill blocks along with the 'basic' skill blockEssential Qualifications & Skills4-year degree in Chemistry, Biology, or other relevant scientific disciplineAbility to prepare and analyze in-process and finished goods using various laboratory methodologies and equipmentExperience with HPLC, GC, AA, NIR, pH, etc.Ability to multi-task and prioritize with an attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsSelf-starting and detail-orientedGood troubleshooting skillsStrong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office ApplicationsKnowledge and experience with SAP is a plusExperience and understanding of various analytical instruments and testing methodsHands-on analytical lab experienceTraining in lab techniques from analytical chemistry to biologyOpportunities for advancement and increased compensation through skill blocksINTERESTED IN THIS ROLE? The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00
